Description

Eminox designs and manufactures exhaust aftertreatment systems, reducing emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Our products are supplied as original equipment to meet the latest emissions standards. We also produce complete emissions systems for retrofit to meet the ever-changing demands of local air quality programmes such as London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone and Clean Air Zones across the country. Eminox also supply replacement products to the UK and European independent Aftermarket.

The role of the Health, Safety, Wellbeing & Environmental {HSE} department within the organization is to promote a positive HSE culture within all departments and functions of the organisation. Ensuring that the business remains as a minimum, compliant with current and future legislation and best practice regarding health, safety, wellbeing and environmental requirements.

The HSE Technician is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the companies Health, Safety, Wellbeing & Environment Management System, assisting the Group Health and Safety Manager, and the Eminox HSE Manager in promoting a zero-tolerance approach throughout the organisation, to unsafe working practices, accidents, and environmental issues, with the emphasis on encouraging positive Worker / Management cooperation within the Eminox management system. Communicating shortcomings to the appropriate functions and offering advice and guidance on possible solutions. Ensuring that all activities are monitored and reviewed, to ensure compliance.

Understanding and adherence to the following:

  • H&S policy and procedures (made available through Induction/X Drive/H&S Department)
  • Eminox business quality standard (IATF & ISO 9001) (Induction/Manager/Quality department)
  • Eminox Business Excellence Model (Oliver Wight Class A Standard ) (Induction/Manager/Quality department)
  • All group and Eminox policies and procedures (Available through Induction/SharePoint/HR Department) And in addition:
  • Understand risk management in the context of both legal requirements, and that of OHSAS18001

/ISO45001, 3 and ISO14001 as it applies to this role

  • Demonstrate and uphold the company values

Key skills (your job requires):

  • Knowledge of ISO45001, 3 & ISO14001 Standards
  • Ability to carry out, and understand internal audits of the ISO45001, 3 and ISO14001 standards
  • Knowledge of accident and incident investigations and close out procedures.
  • Ability to communicate requirements of the HSE management system to all levels of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • The HSE Technician will support all sites under the Eminox group
  • Ensuring the upkeep of the companies HSE Management System
  • Control and retention of HSE records
  • Undertake and maintain all risk assessments
  • Report all accidents and incidents through the established reporting process, support preventive and corrective investigations to ensure the likelihood of an incident reoccurring is minimised
  • Promote and champion an environment of positive physical and mental wellbeing
  • Support projects to improve the HSE position of the business
  • Support the company’s internal audit schedule in line with the relevant HSE standards
  • Carry out audits in line with the ISO14001 & ISO45001, 3 audit schedule
  • Assist the Eminox Management and Supervisory team as and when required regarding all HSE activities
  • Support HSE review meetings and group activity
  • Control of relevant ISO standards and compliance with specific regulations
  • Support ISO45001 {OHSAS18001 & ISO14001 audits from the BSI
  • Proactively manage objectives / KPI’s
  • Any other duties assigned in line with scope of the role
