Plans new site in Slovakia to meet increasing demand for emissions control systems
Gainsborough, UK, 4 October 2021: On the back of record orders, emissions control specialist Eminox today announced its future expansion and growth strategy. To meet the needs of its increasing global customer base it will strengthen its manufacturing capacity by adding a new site in Slovakia alongside significant investment in its existing Gainsborough headquarters.
Under the plans, the Gainsborough site will focus on manufacturing specialised exhaust aftertreatment systems (EATS), becoming the centre of excellence for Eminox’s fast-expanding marine business and non-internal combustion engine (ICE) technology.
To free up capacity for this expansion some high-volume manufacturing production will move to a new, purpose-built 5,700 m2 factory that will open in Slovakia in 2022. Gainsborough remains Eminox’s global headquarters, and the senior leadership team guarantees that no role will be lost from the site as a result of this expansion in 2021 and 2022. With the considerable work that Eminox is currently bidding for the company does not anticipate this changing in 2023.
The investment will not only increase production volumes but ensure Eminox continues to meet the complex requirements of its global customer base which include major truck, bus, off-road machinery and marine original equipment manufacturers.

As tighter legislation is adopted across the world, Eminox is seeing more and more opportunities to help reduce emissions from diesel buses, trucks, rail, marine vehicles, and non-road mobile machines, improving air quality and lowering pollutants and greenhouse gases. Looking beyond diesel engines, research and development into non-ICE markets led by the Gainsborough centre of excellence will further expand the company’s business opportunities moving forward.
Eminox’s existing joint ventures in China and India will be unaffected by the announcement and will continue to operate as before.
