UK specialists in after treatment for heavy duty diesel vehicles and emissions reductions Eminox has announced a joint venture with Chinese manufacturer Funwick Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
The new operation, Eminox China Ltd., will offer a range of exhaust and emission control solutions primarily for the Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) sector. It will also offer capabilities in specialist methane catalysts for gas engines and complex pipework solutions.
The new company will be based on the border of Shanghai and Suzhou in a 2,500m2 facility, which will utilise the technical expertise of Eminox’s UK operations, whilst starting to build its own team.
This will give it the ability to develop solutions to meet challenging requirements, utilising sophisticated design and simulation tools, combined with prototyping and validation.
These include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Noise vibration and harshness (NVH) analysis.
The joint venture comes at a time when air pollution is a major environmental challenge in China, with rapid growth and increasing vehicle populations.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection, as well as vehicle and equipment manufacturers, are now taking steps to address this issue, as emissions limits for diesel engine vehicles sold in China are being progressively reduced to near zero levels.
